Our Lady of Loreto

Is 48: 17-19

Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: I am the Lord your God, who teaches you for your own good, who leads you in the way you should go. O that you had paid attention to my commandments! Then your prosperity would have been like a river, and your success like the waves of the sea; your offspring would have been like the sand, and your descendants like its grains; their name would never be cut off or destroyed from before me.

Showing us the way to true happiness

Let’s be honest—life is complicated. Circumstances and motivations vary, and situations can get messy very quickly. God is complicated, too. As Christians, we spend our entire lives trying to understand him and his plan for us. But his message is crystal clear. If we follow him, he can give us the greatest gift of all, what we are all truly searching for—happiness. Sometimes our circumstances may lead us astray or to feel like his commandments are unfair, but these rules are not made to hinder us. God gave us the commandments to show us the way to true happiness, to keep us free from those things that are keeping us from what it is that we all truly seek—a deeper connection with Christ.

Prayer

Show your ways to me, O Lord;
teach me your paths.
Direct me in your truth, and teach me;
for you are God my Savior.

Welcome to JesuitPrayer.org

Ignatian spirituality reminds us that God pursues us in the routines of our home and work life, and in the hopes and fears of life's challenges. The founder of the Jesuits, Saint Ignatius of Loyola, created the Spiritual Exercises to deepen our relationship with Christ and to move our contemplation into service. May this prayer site anchor your day and strengthen your resolve to remember what truly matters.
