Mt 9: 27-31
As Jesus went on from there, two blind men followed him, crying loudly, “Have mercy on us, Son of David!” When he entered the house, the blind men came to him; and Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They said to him, “Yes, Lord.” Then he touched their eyes and said, “According to your faith let it be done to you.” And their eyes were opened.
Then Jesus sternly ordered them, “See that no one knows of this.” But they went away and spread the news about him throughout that district.

In today’s reading, Jesus performs one of the many miracles of his lifetime—this time, giving sight to the blind. But what does he ask for before the healing takes place? He says to the two men, “Do you believe that I can do this?” Faithfully, they respond that they do. And that is where the key lies—God works wonders in the world every single day, but sometimes it can be hard to believe that. Jesus tells them not to tell anyone, but they go out and tell everyone they can! When God works wonders in our lives, we can’t help but to share our joy with others. The Lord is ready and willing to work wonders both for and through us. The question for us is will we let him? —David Hart is a senior at Loyola University Chicago and a communications intern for the Midwest Jesuits. You said that with faith I can even say to the mountain, “Go, throw yourself into the sea,” and it will be done. My mind knows that if I believe, trust and have faith in you, I will receive whatever I ask for in your holy name. I believe in you, Jesus. I believe that you are Lord. You are the God Most High. You are the creator of heaven and earth. Erase my doubt, Jesus. Take it all away. Help my unbelief. I deliver myself into your righteous hands. Amen. —Author unknownWill we let God work wonders?
