Jn 6: 44-51

No one can come to me unless drawn by the Father who sent me; and I will raise that person up on the last day. It is written in the prophets, ‘And they shall all be taught by God.’ Everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to me. Not that anyone has seen the Father except the one who is from God; he has seen the Father. Very truly, I tell you, whoever believes has eternal life.

I am the bread of life. Your ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died. This is the bread that comes down from heaven, so that one may eat of it and not die. I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats of this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.”

Where is God drawing me?

What and where is God drawing me towards right now?  When I take some time to pause in my busy day to reflect on this question, I usually feel a sense of peace, grace, and freedom.  I do not feel forced, pressured, or driven by fear in any way.  I feel lovingly and gently nudged, or drawn by God to love in action.

Amid continuing racial violence and injustice in our country, what is God drawing me to do right now?

Am I deeply reflecting, seeking more knowledge, having honest conversations, seeking to learn with humility, and seeking true relationships? These are painful, challenging times affecting all of us, but particularly our racially underrepresented brothers and sisters.

Where am I being drawn to act?

God is love in action.  Seeking and acting on issues of racial justice is love in action.

Where am I being drawn by God to act during these times?

Dr. Sajit U. Kabadi is the Assistant Principal for Mission, Ministry, and Diversity at Regis Jesuit High School in Colorado.

Prayer

God of love, during these times, what and where are you drawing me toward right now?

Am I being drawn by your love?
Am I being drawn by your justice?
Am I being drawn by your wisdom?
Am I being drawn by your faith?
Am I being drawn by your grace?
Am I being drawn by your hope?

Am I being drawn by the Holy Spirit?

God of Love, please help me to be a contemplative as I pray that I am more open in how you are drawing me to love.  Please help me to be a contemplative that is loving “in action” right now, in this moment, in this time, on these issues, for these communities, my brother and sisters who are a part of me and the Body of Christ.

Amen…Amen…
