Someone predicted that, as the late 20th century saw a hunger and thirst among people for physical fitness, the dawn of the 21st century finds a hunger and thirst among people for spiritual fitness. The dichotomy this presents echoes this warning of St. Paul to Timothy: ”The time will come when people will not listen to sound doctrine, but will follow…teachers who will tell them what they are itching to hear. They will…give their attention to legends.” (2 Timothy 4:3-4)
What signs of spiritual hunger and thirst do I see among people I meet? How can I help these people find the true message of Jesus, the true teacher?
